The Lima Charlie Learning System is designed to make you re-think how you engage with your learning experiences, both as an educator and a learner. It honors each child- mind, body, and spirit- by allowing space for critical thinking, curiosity, and individuality. It's time to undo conditioning and step away from conformity. Instead of teaching children how to follow instructions, we are allowing them time and space to think and reason. They set the pace and rhythm of their learning.
It's not about what is taught, rather HOW it is learned.
The goal of the Lima Charle Learning system is two-fold:
- To create autonomy that starts in early childhood.
- To give parents who homeschool and unconventional educators the gift of time.
How do we do that?
- Through relevant and engaging learning experiences.
- Through parents/educators doing less.
- Through asking questions.
The LC system breaks down how to execute:
- unschooling
- creating the learning environment
- goal setting
- setting daily and weekly schedules
- tracking progress
- freedom boundaries
- what NOT to do
- scaffolding learning experiences among different ages
- choosing among the different apps/workbooks available
